Los Angeles Dodgers: Bleacher Report ranks rotation sixth overall for 2020
By Nick Ziegler
Bleacher Report recently ranked the best starting rotations in the MLB. Where did the Los Angeles Dodgers rank?
While we await the start of the 2020 MLB season, fans of the Los Angeles Dodgers can’t wait to see their team get back on the field.
After years of just falling short, the Dodgers are once again primed to be one of the best teams in baseball. This offseason, the Dodgers made a big splash to acquire Mookie Betts and David Price from the Boston Red Sox.
While Price is on the downside of his career, Betts is an MVP caliber player and will create one of the best duos in baseball with Cody Bellinger. The offense for the Dodgers should have no problem scoring runs, but in the playoffs, it’s all about pitching.
The Dodgers know this all too well, as they ran into a great staff for the Washington Nationals in the playoffs last season. The combination of Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg, and Patrick Corbin helped propel the Nationals to a World Series.
Recently, Bleacher Report ranked all of the starting rotations in baseball. On their list, the Dodgers came in ranked sixth overall.
While the rotation for the Dodgers did take a hit with the loss of Hyun-Jin Ryu, they still have one of the better rotations in baseball. Walker Buehler is emerging as one of the best pitchers in baseball, and it could be him taking over for Clayton Kershaw as the best pitcher on the staff.
Having Kershaw as a No.2 would be pretty scary for opponents, as while he might be slipping a bit, Kershaw is still one of the best in the game. Hopefully, he can avoid the injury bug that has plagued him recently.
In addition to the loaded front end of the rotation, the Dodgers have Price, Julio Urias, and Alex Wood. Also, in typical Dodgers fashion, they are deep at the position with Dustin May and Ross Stripling who could also make their way into the rotation.
Once the baseball season hopefully gets going, the Dodgers should once again have one of the better rotations in baseball. With a strong lineup as well, the Dodgers should once again find themselves playing playoff baseball.
After some tough years of late filled with heartbreak, this could be the season we finally see the Dodgers get over the hump and win a World Series.
