– Offensive Line

While the defense certainly had their issues last season, the offense was far from perfect. In 2018, the Rams had one of the best offenses in the NFL. It was a well-balanced attack with a strong running game, good offensive line, and effective play-action passing.

Last season, arguably the biggest issue for the team was their offensive line. The Rams weren’t able to run the ball nearly as well, as the offensive line struggled, and Todd Gurley wasn’t the same running back.

The lack of a running game pretty much ruined the play-action passing attack for the Rams, and Goff was forced to throw the ball a lot. The high volume of passing resulted in Goff being hit a lot and forcing bad throws under pressure.

If the Rams can get the offensive line back on track, the rest should resolve itself. Even though the NFL is a passing league, you still have to be able to run the football to keep opposing teams honest.

Considering the passing attack for the Rams is at its best with the play-action, running the football is certainly important for Los Angeles.
