This offseason, should the Los Angeles Lakers pursue a deal that would bring Chris Paul to the Lakers?

In recent rumors, it has been reported that the Los Angeles Lakers could potentially make a trade for Chris Paul. While it is a safe bet that the Oklahoma City Thunder would have no interest in simply buying out the veteran, it seems that trading for him would be the only possible option to get Paul onto the team.

Here we will be covering what the Lakers would have to give up to get Paul, why the Lakers should make the move for him, and what it could mean for the team in the upcoming years.

The fifteen-year NBA veteran was part of a proposed and accepted deal that would have sent him from the New Orleans Hornets to the Los Angles Lakers to team up with Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard.

With all three of them playing together in their primes, it is safe to say that Lakers team would have been a force to be reckoned with. However, Paul would still be extremely useful to the Lakers today. The only issue would be trying to match up contracts to make the numbers work in an attempt to absorb Paul’s enormous contract. With Paul being one of LeBron’s best friends in the league and them wanting to play together for almost a decade now, it could be a pairing that could push the Lakers forward to championship favorites for the upcoming years.
