With the NBA season being suspended, there has been some buzz about the Los Angeles Lakers trading for Chris Paul this offseason. Here is why they should.
As we await the NBA season to resume for the Los Angeles Lakers, there has been some buzz about their upcoming offseason.
While we don’t know what the future will hold for the Lakers, the hope is that the season can resume and the team will be competing for a championship. Before the season being suspended, the Lakers had the best record in the Western Conference and just recently pulled off wins against the Los Angeles Clippers and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Even though the Lakers are a great team this season, they aren’t perfect. At the NBA Trade Deadline, they were actively looking to improve their roster. With somewhat limited assets, the Lakers instead signed Markieff Morris and Dion Waiters.
Depending on when or if the season resumes, we know that there will be an offseason eventually in the NBA. Recently, there has been some buzz about Chris Paul potentially being on the move.
Since Paul has been able to play really well for the Oklahoma City Thunder, he has become a tradable asset for them. While his contract is massive, he is playing like an All-Star, and teams will certainly be interested if he is available to be traded.
With that being said, here are three reasons why the Lakers should pursue a trade for Paul this offseason.
