Los Angeles Rams: 5 Wide receivers to target in the second round of NFL Draft
By Nick Ziegler
– Justin Jefferson
The final option for the Rams in the second round is Justin Jefferson from LSU. The LSU Tigers were the National Champions in 2019, and their offense was loaded, to say the least. They will be having multiple offensive players taken in the draft, and their quarterback, Joe Burrow, will be the No.1 overall pick.
Jefferson had two strong seasons at LSU, as in his sophomore season he totaled 54 receptions, 875 receiving yards, and six receiving touchdowns. While that was a nice season, Jefferson had a ridiculous junior year with Burrow. Last season, Jefferson totaled 111 receptions, 1,540 receiving yards, and 18 receiving touchdowns. Jefferson had some of the best numbers in the country and was a big reason why LSU won a title.
While the stats are great for Jefferson, there are some concerns about his game. In college, Jefferson operated from the slot mostly at 6’3”. In the NFL, that might not translate as well against professionals. Also, he had a hard time when he was bumped at the line. If he makes the switch to the outside in the NFL as he will likely have too, that is an area of concern.
Even though there might be some minor concerns about Jefferson, the stats don’t lie. This is a very capable wide receiver and will be one of the best options for the Rams in the second round.
