Los Angeles Chargers: 3 Needs in the 2020 NFL Draft
By Nick Ziegler
As we get closer to the NFL Draft, here are three needs for the Los Angeles Chargers when they will be on the clock later in the month.
The 2020 NFL Draft is quickly approaching for the Los Angeles Chargers. While it won’t have the normal glitz and glam, it will still be a huge day for many athletes and franchises.
While the season is important, drafting well really sets a team up for success or failure long-term. Finding those diamonds in the rough late in the draft or getting a franchise player early on can make a huge difference for a franchise.
For the Chargers, the 2020 season will be one filled with uncertainty. Philip Rivers is no longer the starting quarterback for the team, and Melvin Gordon has also left. An offense that was once great now has a lot of question marks heading into the season.
2019 was a disappointing year for the Chargers, they were in a lot of games, but were never able to get it done when it counted. That has resulted in them having the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and they will be selected early on in most rounds.
While 2019 might have been a disappointment, the draft can create optimism for the franchise. After a sub-par year on offense, expect to see the Chargers taking multiple players on that side of the ball early on.
