Los Angeles Chargers are not favored to land Tua Tagovailoa

As we get closer to the NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Chargers will be in the market for a quarterback. Are they favored to land Tua Tagovailoa?

With the NFL Draft quickly approaching, the Los Angeles Chargers’ most pressing need will be at the quarterback position.

This offseason, the Chargers decided that it was time for the franchise to move in a new direction. Philip Rivers is no longer the starting quarterback for the team, as they currently have Tyrod Taylor as their No.1 option.

While Taylor has a winning record as a starter in the NFL, he doesn’t appear to be the long-term answer for the Chargers. In all likelihood, the Chargers will be drafting a quarterback in the 2020 Draft fairly early.

With the sixth overall pick, the Chargers will be in a good position to be able to get one of the top quarterbacks available. However, that might not be Tua Tagovailoa according to recent betting odds.

Since the Dolphins are ahead of the Chargers in the draft as of now, they will have the choice of what quarterback to take after Burrow is off the board. For Tua, there is no denying what he could be if he is healthy. However, with injury issues at Alabama, it is hard to predict what his durability will be like in the NFL.

For the Chargers to decide to make a move up in the draft for Tua, that would be very risky unless they had a great feeling about his health. While it is risky, Tua to the Dolphins seems a lot more likely than him going to the Chargers.

Even though the odds aren’t drastic, a 2.5-1 upset is pretty high. For the Chargers, they will likely get a quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft. However, these recent odds indicate that it is likely won’t be Tua.
