– Andrew Thomas

In addition to Wirfs, another great tackle prospect the Chargers could pursue is Andrew Thomas from Georgia. Coming from one of the best programs in the country and one of the toughest conferences in the country, Thomas is certainly battled tested for the NFL. Playing against teams like Alabama and other SEC powers, Thomas has played against a lot of players who are pros and will be pros like himself.

As a freshman, Thomas started out on the right side of the line before making the eventual switch to left tackle. In his first season as a left tackle, Thomas emerged as one of the best in the country.

Even though Thomas might not be the most technically sound tackle in the draft, he is 6’5” and 320lbs. This size and his strength helped him make up for whatever he might be lacking as of now fundamentally.

Like Wrifs, Thomas could come in and help the Chargers’ offensive line right away on the left side. As another young tackle, Thomas could be a building block for the franchise for years to come as well. Even though offensive lineman isn’t as sexy of a pick as a quarterback, they are generally safer and can have a much higher floor as a prospect.
