– K.J. Hill

Arguably the best pick for the Chargers in the 2020 NFL Draft came in the last round. With their final pick, the Chargers got a steal when K.J. Hill was still on the board. Seeing Hill still available and dropping this low is rather shocking.

While Hill was graded out well by a lot of people as a mid-round pick, his draft stock must have fallen because of his size. Hill is a small receiver, but he is certainly capable of succeeding in the slot for the Chargers.

Even though they drafted Reed a few rounds before, Hill will have a bigger impact than him in the passing game. Having guys like Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Hunter Henry who all draw attention will make it easy for Hill to work in the slot.

While some might see only being able to play the slot as a knock, that is a very important position in the NFL nowadays. We have seen players like Julian Edelman and Cooper Kupp become great wide receivers operating basically only out of the slot.

Even though Hill might never be as good as those two players, he should be able to come in and help right away for the Chargers. For a seventh -ound pick, this was an absolute steal.
