– Jerry Jeudy

While wide receiver wasn’t a pressing need for the Chargers, they could have elected to go in this direction with the sixth pick. This year, there was a wealth of talent at the wide receiver position coming out of college. As we saw with the Chargers, they were able to get K.J. Hill in the seventh round.

Hill could be a steal for the Chargers, but they could have had arguably the best wide receiver in the class if they wanted. Jerry Jeudy ended up slipping a bit further than anyone would have likely though, as the Raiders surprised many by selecting Henry Ruggs from Alabama.

However, if the Chargers drafted Jeudy, they would have given themselves one of the best wide receiver corps in the league. Trying to stop Jeudy, Keenan Allen, and Mike Williams would have been a tall task for any secondary.

If the Chargers did take Jeudy, they could have looked toward a quarterback when they traded back up into the first round, or even in the second round if they didn’t trade their pick. While it wasn’t a pressing need for the Chargers, it would have boosted their offense, and it would have been a better value pick than Herbert.
