Accuracy

In his last two years with Oregon Herbert proved to be an accurate passer and made few mistakes. Herbert improved from his junior to senior season going from a 59.4 completion percentage to 66.8 while reducing his interceptions from 8 to 5.

Herbert did all of this while throwing more passes 404 to 428 and making more completions 240 to 286. Having to learn a new offense and a new league, Herbert will need to remain an accurate passer to justify the Chargers selection.

The Chargers have plenty of weapons to exploit Herbert’s accuracy. Herbert will be able to throw to veteran receiver Keenan Allen and tight end Hunter Henry. While also having a security blanket in the backfield as Austin Ekeler takes over for the departed Melvin Gordon.
