Los Angeles Lakers: Should they pursue Zach LaVine in a trade?
By Zane Harris
This offseason, should the Los Angeles Lakers pursue a deal that would bring Zach LaVine to the Lakers?
Nearing the trade deadline back in February, it was rumored that the Los Angeles Lakers inquired about trading for Zach LaVine from the Chicago Bulls. As the season has gone on, LaVine has established himself as a borderline All-Star and a multi-level scorer.
However, it seems that according to recent reports that LaVine no longer wants to be a part of the dysfunctional and rebuilding process of the Chicago Bulls. The Lakers are one of the most well run and tight-knit franchises in the NBA at the moment.
Also, being along a facilitator like LeBron James, LaVine would still have a chance to showcase his elite scoring ability. On top of this, he would be the third-star player that the Lakers have tried to acquire ever since the team acquired Anthony Davis to put alongside James.
With the Bulls being a rebuilding team and the Lakers being comprised of veteran players it would make a trade somewhat difficult to put together. Obtaining LaVine would give the Lakers yet another offensive weapon which would make them an even more difficult team to defend than they already are. Pairing another young star with the best duo in the NBA would be enough to likely make the Lakers championship favorites for many years to come.
