– Doesn’t fit with the stars

This offseason, the Lakers made a huge decision to trade for Anthony Davis. When getting a player the caliber of Davis, it is going to cost a franchise a lot. For the Lakers, it cost them pretty much their entire young core besides Kuzma.

However, with a friendly contract and the ability to space the floor, Kuzma looked like he would have been a good fit along with Davis and LeBron. However, with almost a full season together, Kuzma hasn’t seemed to fit well with Davis and LeBron.

Due to the success of Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee this season, the Lakers haven’t had to play small with Davis at the five all that often. This has resulted in Kuzma, Davis, and LeBron not playing all that much together, as all three are forwards.

Kuzma’s struggles from three-point range and on defense have not helped him get on the court, as he is shooting below 30 percent from the free throw line, and his defense has never been a strength either on the perimeter or in the paint. With Kuzma not appearing to be a good fit with the other stars, the Lakers might look to move on from him and get something in return.
