Los Angeles Lakers: 4 Players they should have selected over Julius Randle
By Nick Ziegler
– Spencer Dinwiddie
While Spencer Dinwiddie might not have been a first-round pick, he has been able to make a nice career for himself in the NBA. Dinwiddie was selected in the second round by the Detroit Pistons and never really did much with them.
However, Dinwiddie’s career changed when he went to the Brooklyn Nets, as he quickly began to shine. In his four seasons with the Nets, Dinwiddie has just constantly improved, as he went from averaging 7.3 points per game in his first season in Brooklyn to 20.6 points per game this season.
Dinwiddie is a great example of hard work paying off and some players just not quite being ready when they first get into the NBA. With the Nets, Dinwiddie has been one of the best sixth men in the league, which is a very valuable commodity in the league.
In the 2018-19 season, Dinwiddie along with D’Angelo Russell was able to help lead the Nets into the playoffs. Despite being one of the best sixth men in the league, Dinwiddie still might be an underrated player for the Nets. This season, he has played well for them once again, despite some drama within the franchise. As a talented guard, Dinwiddie would have been an excellent pick for the Lakers.
