– Getting the best out of LBJ

In the NBA, it is very hard for a player to win on his own. Almost every time, a star has needed another star and sometimes even two to be able to win a championship. There are exceptions, but generally, one player can’t do it all.

In his first season with the Lakers, LeBron didn’t have another star player. The hope was that Brandon Ingram was going to take the next step for the Lakers, but he didn’t seem ready or all that great of a fit to play with James.

When the Lakers pulled off the blockbuster deal for Davis, it gave Los Angeles one of the best duos in the NBA. With the Golden State Warriors losing Durant at the time, it looked like the Lakers had the star power to compete in the Western Conference.

The deal for Davis also seemed to give James some new life. At times in his first season with the Lakers, LeBron didn’t look all that interested. Compared to this season, James is locked in on winning a title with Davis, and we have seen some of his best work on the defensive end in years after Davis challenged him on that end of the court.

As a player that has accomplished so much already in the NBA, Davis has seemingly rejuvenated the career of James.
