Bleacher Report recently named the best-kept secret for each team in the NFL. For the Los Angeles Rams, it was Josh Reynolds who was named.

As we wait for the start of the 2020 NFL season, the Los Angeles Rams will be anxiously awaiting the start of the season to bounce back after a poor 2019 season.

After the disappointing season, the Rams made some big changes this offseason. First, Todd Gurley was let go by the team and eventually signed with the Atlanta Falcons. After Gurley was let go, the Rams then traded Brandin Cooks to the Houston Texans for a second-round pick.

These two players were a huge part of their success in 2018, but their performance in 2019 wasn’t very good. The Rams decided to move on from two players that were making a lot of money and not performing up to those expectations.

With Cooks gone, the Rams will need someone to step up at wide receiver, As of now, the most likely player to see an increase in his targets will be Josh Reynolds.

Reynolds was a fourth-round pick of the Rams in 2017 and began to make an impact for the Rams in 2018. In that season, Reynolds totaled 29 receptions, 402 receiving yards, and five receiving touchdowns.

Last season, Reynolds wasn’t as effective for the Rams, as he totaled 21 receptions, 326 receiving yards, and just one receiving touchdown.

However, with Cooks now playing for the Texans, Reynolds could be the new top vertical threat for the Rams. With Cooper Kupp generally working strictly underneath, Reynolds could be the guy that Jared Goff targets to stretch the defense.

As Reynolds enters his fourth season with the Rams, this is certainly the time for him to breakout. The trading of Cooks could have been an indication that the team believes Reynolds can succeed in an expanded role.
