Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Reasons why Kobe Bryant is a Top-5 player of all-time
By Nick Ziegler
– Lethal scorer
While Kobe might have been an amazing defensive player, he was certainly known for his ability to put the ball in the basket. In his career, Kobe ended up finishing averaging 25 points per game, which is certainly a strong number. However, in his prime, Kobe was one of the best scorers we have ever seen.
In the 2005-2006 season, Bryant was able to lead the NBA by averaging a ridiculous 35.4 points per game. He followed that season up by 31.6 points per game. Averaging over 30 points a game doesn’t happen very often in the NBA, and Bryant was able to do it two seasons in a row.
It was in the 2006 season that Bryant had arguably one of the best games of all-time, as he dropped 81 points on the Toronto Raptors. Seeing Kobe in the zone like that was truly special to watch, as the Raptors had no answer for Bryant that night.
Throughout his career, it was very easy to see the development in Bryant’s game from being a high flyer to a mid-range assassin. It is not easy to change and develop your game as Bryant did, but his ability to do so resulted in him sustaining success.
