If the NBA season resumes, the Los Angeles Lakers will need their role players to be on their game if they want to win a championship.

With the NBA season being suspended for over two months now, the Los Angeles Lakers are anxious to get the season rolling again.

Before the suspension, the Lakers were playing some of their best basketball of the season. The Lakers were able to prove that they are title contenders with wins over the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers throughout a weekend.

Since the Lakers have two superstars in LeBron James and Anthony Davis, they will always have a chance to win with them on the court. The Lakers know what they will be getting from those two come playoff time, but sometimes it is the role players who make a difference.

Recently, Danny Green spoke about the role players needing to help out when it is playoff time. Here’s what he had to say on ESPN’s First Take, with text via Silver Screen and Roll.

"We have a very deep team — a lot of depth — so guys like Kuz, Avery Bradley, myself, and KCP, we’re going to need those four guys on our group to be able to have a good night at least one night each throughout the playoffs.”"

One of the reasons why the Lakers brought in Green was because of his reputation as a winner. Green has played in a ton of playoff games and is a champion with the San Antonio Spurs and the Toronto Raptors.

Green wasn’t a star on either of those two teams, but he certainly was an important role player. Playing alongside some superstars in his career, Green knows how to do the little things to help support the stars.

One of the nice things about this Lakers team is that they do have a good amount of quality depth. In addition to Green, the Lakers have a lot of other players who are capable of making shots or big plays in a critical moment.

As we have seen compared to last season, the supporting cast of the Lakers is in a much better position to help the team win a title. Hopefully, the season will resume and we will get to see them back on the floor.
