Recent Angels news is that David Fletcher has been named as the best-kept secret on the team heading into the 2020 season.

As we wait for some updates on the 2020 MLB season, recent Angels news has been about who the best-kept secret on the team is.

If the 2020 season starts, the Angels have some high expectations going into the season. With a lot of new faces, the hope is that the Angels can get into the playoffs and make some noise.

Mike Trout is without a doubt one of the best players in baseball, but we haven’t seen him in the playoffs nearly as much as we should have for a player of his caliber. However, in baseball, it is about the team and not just one player.

The Angels haven’t been shy about spending money, and this offseason they paired Anthony Rendon with Trout. These two could be one of the best duos in baseball, as the Angels offense should be pretty explosive.

While the Angels certainly have two superstars on the team, they also have some players that can complement those two nicely. One of those players is David Fletcher.

Recently, Fletcher was named as the best-kept secret for the Angels heading into the season by Bleacher Report.

Fletcher has only been with the aAngels for about a season and a half worth of games, but he brings a lot of things to the table. Being able to play multiple positions is always a great weapon for a manager, and Fletcher can do that on the field.

In the batter’s box, Fletcher was able to total a .290 batting average, .350 on-base percentage, six home runs, 83 runs scored, and 49 RBIs. Fletcher’s ability to get on base in front of guys like Trout and Rendon could result in him scoring a lot of runs for the Angels if the season resumes.

At just 25-years-old, Fletcher should only get better for the Angels over the next few seasons. Even though he might be playing in the shadow of Trout, he is a good player in his own right.
