Los Angeles Lakers: Ranking the 3 greatest duos in franchise history
By Zane Harris
#2 LeBron James and Anthony Davis
The next duo on the list will likely be one of the most highly debated on the list as they have only played together for a single season. That due of course is LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
As stated previously, this duo has not spent even a full season together, which means that it would be impossible for them to have all of the achievements together that we had seen from both Pau and Kobe and Magic and Kareem.
However, in terms of raw talent between the two players, the lowest you could put LeBron and Davis would be second on this list with only one other duo being in a conversation of being able to keep pace and beat a duo with the lethal combination of size and speed that Davis and James have.
Anthony Davis may be the best teammate that LeBron has had in his career which is quite the accomplishment considering he has played with players like Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love.
While it is still unclear in which direction the yearly awards will go in the NBA this season, both James and Davis are in major contention for two of the most important awards, James being one of the front-runners for Most Valuable Player, and Davis being in contention for winning Defensive Player of the Year.
On top of this, the Lakers are one of if not the front-runners to win the 2019-2020 NBA championship once the season starts back up in Orlando. While it is true that the duo has only spent one year together, it would be difficult to argue that one year would be more impressive than the year that these two could possibly put together.
Fiurthermore, they are the two players who likely will pull the franchise out of their decade long championship drought and this year will end their playoff drought.
