Defensive Tackle Aaron Donald

Has there been a better defensive player in football since 2014? I would argue it’s not even close. Aaron Donald has been absolutely dominating since entering the league six years ago.

The Pittsburgh product has made the Pro Bowl in each and every season he’s been in the league and earned All Pro honors for the last five seasons straight. As a defensive tackle, he led the NFL in sacks back in 2018. That’s almost unheard of.

Oh, and let’s not forget about the two NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards in 2017 and 2018. To top it all off, he and the Rams made a Super Bowl appearance just a year and a half ago. This guy is as accomplished as anyone in the league.

If you follow the guy on social media, it’s pretty easy to see why he’s so dominant.

The man lives in the weight room.

This body has no business being a defensive tackle in the NFL. It is almost hilarious when you put Donald up against any other defensive tackle in the league. Just judging by muscle tone and build, Donald makes everyone else at his position look like an obese couch potato.

So, when Hard Knocks kicks off this fall, I am here for the Aaron Donald workouts. Someone so accomplished and in such incredible physical condition at his size is bordering super-human.

If you’re someone who earned the infamous “quarantine body” during the past three months of this nationwide pandemic, maybe watching Donald put up ungodly amounts of weight will offer a little inspiration, too.
