3. What will Hunter Henry’s impact be in 2020?

After tearing his ACL in 2018, Hunter Henry rebounded nicely in 2019 with 12 starts, 55 receptions, and five touchdowns. Essentially, it was just another year for him to prove that he could be a strong part of the Chargers offense.

Now that he heads into 2020, there are two things to keep an eye on. First, will Henry take another step and become an elite tight end? Some may say that he’s already there but it can also be argued that he’s still getting better. Second, taking another step as a tight end means that the Chargers will need to pay him considering he’s playing 2020 on the franchise tag.

Henry should have a big year in 2020. He’s proven that he can be a focal point in the Chargers offense, despite having to split targets with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. However, it’s clear that he’s ready to get a big contract extension and to do that, he needs to have a big impact.
