The Los Angeles Lakers have recently signed J.R. Smith for the remainder of the season. Here are three ways he can help Los Angeles.
With the NBA season set to resume at the end of July, the Los Angeles Lakers are prepared to finish off the season strong and hopefully win a title.
Before the season was suspended, the Lakers had the best record in the Western Conference and were building momentum toward the postseason. Unfortunately, the momentum was stopped by the coronavirus.
Now, the Lakers will have to restart with the NBA and find their groove once again. Due to the coronavirus, Los Angeles will be without one of their key players, as Avery Bradley has elected to opt-out of the resumed season.
Bradley has been the starting point guard for the Lakers for most of the season and is one of the best defenders that the team. While the Lakers do have a roster with quality depth, they want to make sure that they have the best roster possible heading into the playoffs.
With Bradley opting out, it opened up a spot for the team to sign another player.
Shortly after Bradley his announcement, the Lakers were quickly linked to J.R. Smith. Smith has been a very solid pro in his career, and he looks like he should be a good fit for this team.
Even though Smith hasn’t played this season, he impressed the Lakers in his workouts and got them to sign him. As we head toward the resumed season, here are three ways Smith can help Los Angeles in the playoffs.
