Rajon Rondo

One of the more frustrating players on the Lakers this season has been Rajon Rondo. The Lakers went all-in with James at the point guard position, and it has worked out well for the offense.

James is leading the league in assists as the primary ball-handler for Los Angeles and has set a new career-high in assists per game. When James is on the floor, the offense has had no issues for the Lakers.

However, the issue for the Lakers has been when James gets his breaks, the offense isn’t nearly the same. One of the reasons for that has been the inconsistency of Rondo. At times, Rondo looks great and highly motivated. At other times, the offense is stagnant and he looks like he should be on the bench.

While Rondo hasn’t had a great season, there is always the possibility that Playoff Rondo will show up. We have seen him at times this season, and with Bradley out, Rondo might be playing more minutes for the Lakers at point guard.

As a great passer and facilitator, Rondo can lead the second unit of the Lakers when James is off the court. While James will likely play a lot of minutes in the playoffs, getting him some rest and not having the offense suffer will be important.
