As the Los Angeles Lakers get ready to resume the season in Orlando, here are three reasons why they are the team to beat.

With the NBA season set to restart soon, the Los Angeles Lakers will soon be heading to Florida to begin their quest for a championship.

The league being suspended came at a bad time for the Lakers, who were coming off some impressive wins. Overall, the Lakers have been the team to beat in the Western Conference this season, as they have had the best record in the conference for almost the entire season.

However, due to the coronavirus, the Lakers will look a bit different when they go to Florida. Starting point guard Avery Bradley has elected to opt-out for the rest of the season with his son being at a high-risk due to the coronavirus.

With Bradley’s roster spot open, the Lakers were able to recently sign J.R. Smith, who will be making his season debut for the Lakers. In addition to Smith, the Lakers also signed Dion Waiters just before the league was suspended. We have yet to see Waiters play for the Lakers, but he can be a valuable piece as well.

The Lakers did recently receive the good news that Dwight Howard will be joining the team. There was a bit of uncertainty about whether or not Howard would play, but it looks like he will be in.

With all that being said, the Lakers are one of the favorites to win a title this season. Furthermore, here are three reasons why they should be the team to beat in the playoffs.
