For Kuzma, one of the main reasons why he can salvage his season is the fresh start that has been provided for him. By the time the Lakers step back on the court in a game, it will have been over four months since they last played.

That extended time off is an entire offseason, and Kuzma should be able to use that to his advantage. Even though some might remember that he hasn’t played well before the league was suspended, he can make people forget about it quickly with some good games heading into the playoffs.

Even though his numbers are way down this year compared to years one and two, that had to be expected with a player like Anthony Davis coming in. What the Lakers need Kuzma to do is be more efficient when he is on the court.

If Kuzma can improve his shooting percentages and defense, there is no reason why Frank Vogel won’t be able to get him on the court in a larger role than what we have seen so far this season. Getting this fresh start is a unique opportunity for Kuzma. Hopefully, he is looking at this restart with a positive mindset to salvage his season.
