3. Is Kenneth Murray going to be the face of the Chargers defense?

While he may be just 21 years old, the Chargers appeared to have struck gold when they drafted Kenneth Murray with the 23rd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Coming out of Oklahoma, Murray showcased many traits which is what made him a surefire first-round pick.

What the Chargers will get in Murray is a player that is explosive, rangy, and plays with a competitive attitude that is hard to match at times. Adding Murray to the middle of the defense will benefit the rest of the front seven as well.

Murray was a highly productive player at the University of Oklahoma. As a three-year starter, he’d rack up 325 tackles, 36.5 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks, proving that he can be force when given an opportunity to start.

Right now, guys like Joey Bosa, Melvin Ingram, and Derwin James may be considered to be the face of the Chargers defense but in reality, it’s not hard to see Murray bursting onto the scene in 2020 and making an immediate impact.
