The Los Angeles Lakers have now had their second scrimmage since the NBA restarted in Orlando. Against the Magic, one player on the Lakers looked fantastic.

As the NBA Bubble gets closer to the start of meaningful games, the Los Angeles Lakers have now had two scrimmages. These games are important for the Lakers to get back out in there in some game-type situations.

Also, this is a great time for Frank Vogel to try out some new lineups and rotations with some of the new players on the team.

For the Lakers, one of the key players for them, if they want to win a championship, is Kyle Kuzma. In his first two seasons with the Lakers, Kuzma showed a lot of promise as part of the young core.

Right from when he was drafted, Kuzma proved that he could be a very effective scorer in the NBA from Day 1. With the ability to shoot and beat opponents off the dribble, Kuzma looked pretty polished coming into the league.

The Lakers decided to keep Kuzma out of the Anthony Davis trade this past summer, as they believed in him. However, Kuzma had a very challenging start to the season, as he missed a lot of time in the summer recovering from a lower leg injury.

Being the third option on a team with two superstars can be very challenging. Kuzma never was able to get into a groove during the regular season. However, with the season taking a break and restarting up, this is a great opportunity for Kuzma to salvage what has been a disappointing season.

In the Lakers’ scrimmage against the Orlando Magic, Kuzma showed the ability to be great on the offensive end of the court. In the win, Kuzma totaled 25 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the floor, which included five makes from beyond the arc.

If Kuzma can space the floor effectively and be that third scoring option for the Lakers with the ability to get around 20 a game, Los Angeles will be in great shape on their quest to win a ring. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come for Kuzma as the season restarts.
