The lottery for the 2022 draft goes to the Atlanta Hawks and they select Zaire Wade with the first overall pick. They get Chirs Paul on a mid-level exception and sign Paul George to a 3-year 109.08 million dollar deal.

With their core locked in, I let the simulation take over to see how they would fill out the rest of the roster. They used their remaining money to resign Rudy Gobert, Myers Leonard, and signed Daniel Theis, Justin Holiday, Yogi Ferrell, Austin Rivers, Pat Connaughton,  and Joe Harris.

With the Lakers somehow putting together a starting five of Chris Paul, Paul George, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Rudy Gobert they seem almost unbeatable. The first four off of the bench for the Lakers are Daniel Theis, Josh Green, Joe Harris, and Nimari Burnett. However, with LeBron, Davis, and Chris Paul all being on expiring contracts this season, it could be very difficult to keep the team together.

At the All-Star break, the team is struggling much more than expected with a record of 27-27 and being a half-game out of the 8th seed. However, after a great late-season run, they finish with a record of 50-32. During the season the Lakers gave LeBron another contact extension. However, both Anthony Davis and Chris Paul are entering free agency.

Anthony Davis won defensive player of the year. Along with this, he was named to the All-NBA first team and the All-defensive first team. LeBron made the All-NBA second team at 38 years old and that was all for the Lakers in terms of yearly awards.

The 50-32 record was good for the fourth seeded in the West. They knocked off the Pelicans, Timberwolves, and Suns to make it to the NBA Finals where they face off against the 76ers. Where they once again win the NBA Finals in five games. Anthony Davis wins his third Finals MVP and LeBron wins his 6th ring tying him with Michael Jordan. Davis averaged 35.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.6 steals, and 2.6 blocks a game.
