Los Angeles Clippers: Paul George bounces back in Game 5
By Nick Ziegler
The Los Angeles Clippers were able to get a much-needed win in Game 5 against the Dallas Mavericks.
After blowing a huge lead in Game 4 to the Dallas Mavericks, the Los Angeles Clippers were primed to have a needed bounce back performance. The loss in Game 4 was a really bad one for the team, as they were up big against a team that didn’t have their second best player. However, Luka Doncic proved to be too much for the Clippers in that one, and they let it slip away.
In Game 5, the Clippers pretty much took control of the game right away and got the job done. Los Angeles ended up with 154 points in the win, as they cruised to an easy victory.
While it was nice to see the Clippers handle their business in Game 5, it really makes you wonder what they were doing in Game 4.
In the win, the Clippers finally saw Paul George break through with a good game. George’s struggles in the series have been well-documented, as he just simply hasn’t been playing up to par.
However, in the win, George totaled 35 points to lead the team, and was very efficient from the floor. George seeing his shot falling had to be a huge boost, as even though the NBA is in a bubble, the media has been tough on him.
For the Clippers, getting George right before hopefully finishing the Mavericks off in Game 6 was important. Since the Los Angeles Lakers are looking good with their star duo dominating against the Portland Trail Blazers, the star duo on the Clippers needs to keep up.
The Clippers will have a chance to finish off the banged-up Mavericks in six games coming up on Thursday. Hopefully, we won’t see the Clippers mess around like they did in Game 4. If Porzingis is out once again, this should be another easy win for the Clippers.
