Breakdown
On the smaller side for defensemen, Wyatt Kaiser is all over the boards in terms of where various media sites have him ranked heading into the draft. That also makes him incredibly underrated. He has excellent vision and puck-handling skills, accompanied by crafty skating that can help him set up scoring chances in the oppositions’ zone. He’s not an overwhelming physical force on the defensive side yet, but Kaiser always seems to be in the right spot while exhibiting terrific stick placement to break up offensive rushes. He has a commitment to the University of Minnesota-Duluth next year.
Quotables
“You can’t help but notice how he moves his feet, how smooth he is, and how quick and how he changes direction. Even if guys wouldn’t know he’s a good player, they’d pick up on his skating.” – Mick Hatten/The Rink Live
