Los Angeles Clippers: Kawhi Leonard shines in clincher
By Nick Ziegler
The Los Angeles Clippers were able to finish off the Dallas Mavericks in Game 6 thanks to a big game from Kawhi Leonard.
In Game 6 of their first round series against the Dallas Mavericks, the Los Angeles Clippers were able to finish off the young Mavs.
This series might have been a bit closer than the Clippers would have liked, as the Mavericks were able to steal two games from them. The play of Luka Doncic in the series was unbelievable, as he is truly a young player on the cusp of stardom.
Even though Luka played great, the Mavericks didn’t have enough behind him to win the series after Kristaps Porzingis went down with a knee injury. While only having to worry about Luka, the Clippers were able to secure the win in Game 6 and advance.
In the win, the Clippers were able to win comfortably, but the Mavericks did make a little push late in the third quarter and early in the fourth. However, the Clippers were fortunate to have Kawhi Leonard on their squad and he helped iced this series.
Leonard has played very well against the Mavericks all series and he came up big when they needed him in Game 6. With the Mavericks rallying, Kawhi had an answer with some big shots, as the Mavericks struggled to have someone who was capable of guarding him.
In the win, Leonard totaled 33 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, and five steals. It was an all-around great game for Leonard, as he continues to prove that he is one of the best players in the league.
Even though it might not have went as smoothly as the Clippers would have liked, they have moved on to the second round. Now, they will wait to see if they will be facing the Denver Nuggets or the Utah Jazz.
