LA Rams: Darrell Henderson shines in Week 2
By Nick Ziegler
In the LA Rams’ victory against the Philadelphia Eagles, they saw one of their running backs really shine.
The LA Rams have moved to 2-0 on the season and things are looking up for the team. With wins against the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles, the Rams are handling their business against the conference so far.
This offseason, the Rams went through a lot of change. The franchise decided to move on from key players like Todd Gurley and Brandin Cooks, who were both big parts of their Super Bowl run.
It was hard to predict what the offense would look like for the Rams, but so far it has been good. In the win the Eagles, the Rams were able to score 37 points with a great balance on the offensive side of the ball.
Jared Goff was able to throw three touchdowns passes and was very efficient in doing so. However, where the Rams really thrived was on the ground. The team nearly totaled 200 rushing yards, and one of the key players in that was running back Darrell Henderson.
After not being much of a factor for the Rams in Week 1, Henderson performed very well with 81 rushing yards on 12 carries. Also, Henderson was able to find the endzone once.
The Rams have been using a three-headed monster at the running back position with Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown in the backfield as well. However, with both battling injuries it could be Henderson who sees more carries in Week 3.
For the Rams, running the football is very important for the success of Goff and the offense. When the Rams were one-dimensional last season, Goff wasn’t very efficient, and the team struggled. However, with an improved rushing attack this season, the Rams offense looks much better, and they don’t miss Todd Gurley at all.
