LA Chargers commit too many mistakes against Carolina Panthers
By Nick Ziegler
The LA Chargers suffered a tough loss at home in Week 3 to the Carolina Panthers, as they made far too many mistakes.
After putting up a great fight against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2, the LA Chargers came up short against the Carolina Panthers in Week 3.
Coming into the game, the Chargers were a fairly decent sized favorite against the Panthers, who came to Los Angeles without Christian McCaffery. As one of the best running backs in the league and the best player on the team, the Panthers were figured to have a tough day without him.
Overall, the Panthers offense really didn’t do great on offense, but the Chargers really hurt themselves with a lot of mistakes in this game. In the loss, the Chargers turned it over four times with three fumbles and one interception.
Even though the Chargers played well defensively and moved the ball well, turning the ball over that many times really makes it impossible to win a game, and the Chargers were unable to overcome the mistakes.
While the Chargers may not have won the game, it was another pretty impressive showing for Justin Herbert. He was able to total over 300 yards passing again, as he has now reached that mark in both of his starts.
With Tyrod Taylor still out and Herbert throwing for over 300 yards again, it is hard to imagine that Taylor will be the starter when he is finally healthy. Herbert really seemed to be comfortable throwing the ball to Keenan Allen, who had 13 receptions and over 100 receiving yards.
In addition to the strong passing game, the Chargers also ran the ball well with over 100 as a team and a 5.1 yards per carry average.
If not for all of the mistakes, the Chargers easily could have won this game. Unfortunately, it was just too many mistakes to overcome.
