As the LA Rams head into Week 4, it appears that Darrell Henderson is emerging as the lead back for the team.

The LA Rams are 2-1 after a tough loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 3. The Rams nearly won the game after being down 28-3, but after taking the lead in the fourth quarter, the Bills were able to rally back and reclaim the lead.

Even though the Rams lost the game, there was some positives that came out of it. One of the big things for the Rams this season has been to reestablish themselves in the rushing game. Last season, the Rams couldn’t run the football well at all and it put a lot of pressure on Jared Goff and their defense.

However, this season, the Rams are running the football like they did in 2018 when they reached the Super Bowl. Even though they let go of Todd Gurley, the Rams have been strong on the ground with their three running backs in Cam Akers, Darrell Henderson, and Malcolm Brown.

While it was expected that these three would be splitting carries, it appears as if Henderson might be the one who is taking over as the lead back. In Week 1, Henderson totaled just three carries. However, in the last two games, Henderson has totaled nearly 200 rushing yards with a touchdown each week.

Seeing Henderson running the ball well is very good for the Rams as a whole. When Goff is able to utilize the play-action passing game, he is a very efficient quarterback and the offense looks good. Also, controlling the clock helps the Rams defense rest on the sidelines.
