LA Chargers will greatly miss Austin Ekeler
By Nick Ziegler
As the LA Chargers get ready for Week 5, they will be without Austin Ekeler for multiple weeks.
Like many teams around the NFL, the LA Chargers have had to deal with injury issues early on this season.
In Week 5, the Chargers will be facing a tough test, as they will be playing the New Orleans Saints. This game is scheduled to be a road game in New Orleans, but due to a hurricane, it might get moved to a neutral site for safety.
For the Chargers, they will be heading into Monday Night Football with a record of 1-3 and in need for win. With the Kansas City Chiefs off to such a great start, the rest of the division looks like it will just be hoping to snag a wild card spot at this point.
The Chargers have yet to win a game since Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but they really should have two wins if not for too many turnovers against the Carolina Panthers.
While the Saints are considered to be one of the best teams in the league, they are heading into Monday Night Football with just a 2-2 record. There has been a lot of talk about the play of Drew Brees this season, and he will be challenged against a good defense in the Chargers.
Unfortunately for the Chargers, they will be without one of their key pieces for the game against the Saints and for a few weeks after as well. Austin Ekeler suffered a serious hamstring injury and is expected to be out for multiple weeks.
This is a big blow for the Chargers, as Ekeler is not only their running back, but he is also one of their best receivers. For a young quarterback like Justin Herbert, having a good safety valve like Ekeler out of the backfield is important.
The Chargers will be an underdog on Monday Night Football and they will be facing an uphill battle for the next few weeks without Ekeler.
