Recent Lakers rumors are that the Golden State Warriors might be interested in signing Dwight Howard this offseason.

With the NBA season concluding, there are a lot of Lakers rumors already starting to swirl about the franchise.

Coming off a title win, the Lakers are surely going to see some change to their coaching staff and roster. Very rarely does a successful team like the Lakers not see any change after winning a title, and this offseason will be no different.

Recently, Shams Charania reported that the Golden State Warriors might be interested in Dwight Howard this season.

After a really strong season with the Lakers, Howard should be a highly sought after free agent this offseason. While he might not be the All-Star of old, Howard proved that in a smaller role, he can still be an impact player.

For the Lakers this season, Howard was not their first choice in free agency, but it ended up being one of their best moves in a while. Howard was able to put a lot of things to the side, as did the Lakers after their first failed stint.

Even though he wasn’t a starter for the team, Howard was really productive coming off the bench and sharing time with JaVale McGee. This season, Howard averaged 7.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in under 20 minutes a game.

Howard was a spark for the Lakers on both ends of the court when he came off the bench, as he was a good shot blocker and was fantastic at creating extra opportunities on the offensive end.

Like the Lakers, the Warriors should be a good team next season as they will have Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson both back and healthy. The center position has been a weakness for the Warriors the last few years, as they frequently play small ball lineups. However, Howard would be a good addition for them in games when they need a big man.

It will be very interesting to see what happens with the free agents of the Lakers, as players like Howard are going to be getting a lot of interest.
