LA Rams: NFC West shaping up to toughest division in NFL
By Nick Ziegler
After a big win on Monday Night Football, the LA Rams find themselves right in the middle of the extremely tough NFC West.
With nearly half the season completed for the LA Rams, they find themselves in the middle of a tough race for the NFC West crown.
Coming into the season, the NFC looked like it would be one of the better divisions in the NFL. At the top of the division from last season, the San Francisco 49ers are the defending NFC Champions, and were nearly the Super Bowl champs.
The 49ers were able to bring back most of their team, and that instantly made them a favorite to be one of the best teams in the NFC once again. After the 49ers, the Seattle Seahawks were also a playoff team last season.
With Russell Wilson under center, the Seahawks will always be a competitive team, as he is one of the best quarterbacks in the game.
In addition to the Seahawks, the Arizona Cardinals had a big offseason with a trade to acquire DeAndre Hopkins, and Kyler Murray entering his second season. The Cardinals were certainly expected to take a step forward coming into the 2020 season.
The Rams knew that their division was going to be tough this season, and they have answered the call so far. After Week 7, the Rams are currently in third place with a 5-2 record, but the Cardinals hold the tiebreaker with the same record.
With every team currently over .500, this division is clearly going to be a battle. For the Rams, they haven’t played a ton of divisional games yet this season, and those games will be huge down the stretch.
For the Rams, they have to like where they are at compared to last season. The offense and the defense both look much better this season, but they will have their work cut out for them if they want to win the division.
