Players the LA Lakers should target: Bradley Beal

The final player and arguably the player that should be on the top of the Lakers trade targets list is Bradley Beal. Currently, Washington has been stuck in no man’s land. They have not been bad enough to get a high lottery pick, however, they have not been good enough to make any real noise in the playoffs. This is in part because almost all of their cap space is being wrapped up in two players, Bradley Beal and John Wall.

It has been clear that it is not possible to win a championship with that combination. So they will likely be ready to move on from Beal at the right price.

The package that the Lakers could put together that would probably get Beal to wearing the purple and gold would be Alex Caruso, Kyle Kuzma, Talen Horton-Tucker, Danny Green, a 2020 first-round pick, and a 2025 first-round pick. This would allow Washington to push back their window of relevancy to a time that they could get John Wall’s contract off of their books or move him off of the team.

Beal last year almost led the league in scoring despite being snubbed from the All-Star team. He averaged 30.5 points per game on 35% from three and 6.5 assists a game.

Beal has the most expensive contract than any of the previously mentioned players, however, he also is the safest investment out of any of the previously mentioned players. He is an offensive juggernaut and is serviceable enough on the defensive side of the ball to not be a liability.
