3 Dodgers Who Could Be Playing Their Final Game in L.A. Tonight
By Joe Summers
3. Kevin Kiermaier - CF
The 12-year veteran came to the Dodgers via trade during the middle of the year but announced he'd be retiring at the end of this season. He hopes to go out with a ring yet we already know it's his final series no matter what.
After spending most of his career with the Rays and a pair of seasons with the Blue Jays, this World Series is his last chance to win an elusive championship. Luckily for him, the Dodgers are in great shape to accomplish the goal and send Kevin Kiermaier riding off into the sunset in triumph.
He appeared in 34 games for Los Angeles this year, hitting just .203 with one home run and eight RBIs. The versatile outfielder showed his age, though his veteran leadership was still valuable for the clubhouse.
Kiermaier is beloved by every team he's played for, considered a true pro's pro who uplifts his teammates and stays positive. That's valuable for someone who has struggled at the plate and provides a jolt to some of the less experienced Dodgers on the roster.
Barring a disaster, he'll leave the sport as a champion and respected figure. While Kiermaier has yet to appear in a World Series game, his presence is still felt.
Here's hoping the Dodgers finish the job and send the veteran out on top.
