The Los Angeles Lakers finally got on the preseason win column after their 107-102 victory over the Bucks in Milwaukee. There were three main take takeaways from this game.

1. Dalton Knecht Could Play a Role As a Rookie

Dalton Knecht is an absolute dawg! He may not have had the greatest shooting night, but when the starters were off the floor, it was clear that Knecht was the focal point of the offense. Dalton Knecht finished with 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. He seems like a veteran out on the floor, and you could see him as a possible sixth man for the Los Angeles Lakers.

2. The Young Lakers Are Better Than the Young Bucks

With the 19-0 run in the 4th quarter, the Lakers young guns looked more physical, more experienced, and more explosive. Knecht wasn’t the only one who shined in Milwaukee. Quincy Olivari was brought into the game and in just nine minutes, put up 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. He led the big run in that 4th quarter.

Defense from Maxwell Lewis, Colin Castleton, and Armel Traore, among others, was stifling, forcing two over-and-back calls.

3. Bronny James Need to Start in South Bay

Bronny James, Jr. has shown over the last three preseason that he isn’t ready for all the smoke of the NBA. This doesn’t mean he won’t be a great player.

There can be a lot of stigma of being assigned to the G-League but he needs to be assigned as soon as possible. LeBron James playing with his son is a once-in-a-lifetime story, but this is about winning, and the Lakers need every single person on that opening night roster to be a part of that goal. James Jr. isn’t ready.
