5 Chargers Whose Time in L.A. Will End After the Wild Card Round Loss
By Joe Summers
2. Jalen Reagor - WR
It made sense for the Chargers to throw a dart at Jalen Reagor, who was a first-round pick in 2020, though he failed to earn a significant role even before getting put on the Injured Reserve list. Finding more reliable receiving weapons is crucial to take the next step, and only Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston are truly safe.
Reagor finished the season with seven catches for 100 yards. This is his fourth team, so Reagor's once-promising career is in desperate need of a fix. Perhaps he could carve out a return role and he'll almost assuredly get a training camp invitation somewhere next year, but there's little reason for the Chargers to bring him back.
With eight picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, it's likely that Los Angeles selects at least one receiver. Throw in a free agent or two and there's little room for Reagor.
It feels like a long time ago that Reagor was capable of those types of highlights. He returned just one kick for Los Angeles, notching 22 yards. He's only 26 years old and has time to fix what's plagued him, yet Reagor could find himself out of the NFL within a couple of years if he isn't careful.
Reagor has never eclipsed 400 receiving yards in a season and has just four career receiving TDs. For a first-round pick selected ahead of Justin Jefferson, that's an outright disaster.
Perhaps Reagor impressed Harbaugh before the injury and will earn an invitation back. For now though, the safe bet is on his time with the organization coming to an end.
