Juan Toscano-Anderson

When the Golden State Warriors won the 2022 championship, Juan Toscano-Anderson played a small role as a defense-first forward who played hard. He did the dirty work well and had a knack for playing around Steph Curry.

Despite being a limited player on both ends of the floor, this earned him a contract with the Lakers in the 2022 offseason. His tenure in Los Angeles was a complete disaster. He played in 30 games (seven starts), made 20% of his threes, and averaged 2.7 points per game. He was traded to the Utah Jazz in the mid-season trade involving Russell Westbrook that brought back D'Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, and Jarred Vanderbilt to Los Angeles.

Since then, Toscano-Anderson has spent the majority of his time in the G League. He made headlines recently when he claimed that the G League was the "second-best league" in the world. The 31-year-old will start the season on the Mexico City Capitanes and will hope to get another chance in the NBA.

Harry Giles

Another G Leaguer who is waiting for a call from the NBA is big man Harry Giles. Once an elite draft prospect and a first-round pick in 2017, the former Duke standout failed to make an impact in the NBA.

The combination of Giles' size, athleticism, passing, and shooting was always intriguing for NBA teams, but the talented center was never able to put it together in the pros. The Lakers were just one of four teams that took a chance on him, and he appeared in seven games for the team last season.

Giles suited up for another four games for the South Bay Lakers last season, averaging 11.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game in 26.6 minutes of action. He will likely get another chance there this season but he has a lot to prove if he wants to get NBA action any time soon.
