5 Rams Making Their Final Playoff Run With Los Angeles in 2025

OT Joe Noteboom
Another Super Bowl champion and long-time Rams veteran who may be playing his final games with the team is Joe Noteboom. The 29-year-old offensive lineman, who has been with the team since being selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, has been an integral part of the franchise over the last seven years.
Unfortunately, injuries have taken a toll on Noteboom throughout his career. He suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his second season, an Achilles tear in 2022, and a serious ankle injury this season, that has kept him out for extended periods of time. He has been severely limited since his Achilles injury, receiving 52.3 and 53.8 offensive grades on PFF in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
As a result, he has lost his starting job this season, only appearing in three games all year despite being activated on November 5.
Noteboom had signed a three-year, $40 million contract extension with the Rams in the 2022 offseason. He hasn't been able to live up to that deal. Now, that contract is up, and it's hard to see him returning to Los Angeles.
At this stage of his career, Matthew Stafford needs the best pass protection possible. An injury-prone and aging Noteboom can't provide that at this point. The Rams are better off replacing him with a rookie through the draft.
