5. Hunter Long, TE

In his second season with the Rams, Hunter Long had his most productive NFL season. He played more snaps than he ever has in his career, appearing in 26% of offensive snaps and 60% of special teams snaps for the team. He scored his first career touchdown against the Bills on a 22-yard blocked punt return.

Yet, he is still solidly a TE3 at best. He played fewer snaps than Davis Allen all season and now that Tyler Higbee is back as of Week 16, Long is no longer an important part of the offense. He played 19, 13, and 7 offensive snaps, respectively in the last three weeks of the season.

Higbee is under contract for another season and Colby Parkinson signed a three-year deal just last offseason. The Rams also have Davis Allen, who they drafted back in 2023, as part of the rotation. Higbee will play a much bigger part next season, and Allen and Parkinson will continue to play a part.

Long's contract, on the other hand, expires after this season and it's hard to see why the Rams would bring him back next season.

The Rams could even consider trying to find a long-term solution at tight end, considering Higbee's age and injury concerns. Regardless of what they do with the position, Long is not going to be a part of the solution.
