Things were looking good for the Los Angeles Lakers when the season started, as they had a 10-4 record at one point. Since then, the Lakers have hit a massive wall.

They have now lost six of their last eight games, including two straight double-digit losses. Things took a turn for the worse on Wednesday when they were torched by the Miami Heat 134-93. This 41-point loss was the worst loss of the season for the Lakers and Anthony Davis sent a message to his teammates following this embarrassing performance.

Lakers News: Anthony Davis Sends His Teammates Clear Message

When speaking to reporters following the game, Davis made it clear that the Lakers need to stick together during this rough patch.

"We can't separate. We gotta stay together as a team, as a unit, and make sure that this doesn't turn into something that we don't want."

The Lakers need to find answers and they need to do it quickly. There were points of that contest where Los Angeles played with little to no effort. That kind of performance is unacceptable and played into why the Lakers were blown out.

The Lakers allowed Miami to shoot 57% from the field and 51% from downtown, including 24 made 3-pointers. Everything starts with defense and if there isn't attention to detail in that area, things can quickly fall off the rails, as they did on Wednesday night.

Los Angeles' next chance comes on Friday against the Atlanta Hawks. We'll see if they listened to Davis' comments and come out playing like a cohesive team.
