The Los Angeles Lakers just wrapped the preseason in preparation for the 2024-25 regular season. They open up the campaign on Oct. 22 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Lakers made some tweaks in the offseason but have basically the same roster coming back. In June's NBA Draft, Los Angeles selected Bronny James with the 55th overall pick.

That selection came with a bunch of mixed reviews. People believe the Lakers just brought him in to please LeBron but Bronny continues to silence the doubters. In Friday's game against the Golden State Warriors, Bronny had a great outing.

Lakers News: Bronny James Shined in Friday’s Game

On Oct. 18, Bronny finished with preseason highs in points (17), rebounds (4), and steals (3). The USC product showcased he's able to score from all three levels while being an active defender.

James has always had the traits and attributes that are needed to play in the NBA. The 20-year-old still needs to develop but that's what coaching is for. He receives unnecessary hate because he's the son of LeBron.

The Lakers plan to send Bronny to the G-League for portions of the season but he has showcased he can play in the NBA.

Prior to this outing, the 2024 second-round pick had his fair share of difficulties on the floor but the arrow is pointing up.

This is the kind of performance that gives a young player confidence. Bronny has to be feeling good rolling into his first NBA season.
