In Jim Harbaugh's first year as the Los Angeles Chargers head coach, the team found immense success, returning to the postseason after a one-year hiatus. The Bolts were especially impressive on the defensive side of the ball, allowing fewer points than any team in the NFL.
Considering how they exceeded expectations in 2024, the Chargers aren't expected to make any drastic changes for next season. However, there will still be some new coaches on Harbaugh's staff.

Chargers Hire Adam Fuller as New Safeties Coach
On Wednesday, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported that the Chargers are hiring Adam Fuller as their safeties coach to replace Chris O'Leary. Earlier in the offseason, O'Leary left LA to become the defensive coordinator at Western Michigan.
Fuller most recently worked as the defensive coordinator at Florida State. During his fifth season in the role, Fuller was fired along with offensive coordinator Alex Atkins after the Seminoles started the year 1-9.
Before his time at Florida State, Fuller held the same role at Memphis, Marshall, and Chattanooga. His only head coaching experience came in 2008 when he was hired at DII program Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts.
This is a reunion between Fuller and Asante Samuel Jr, who played under him in his final collegiate season. Samuel Jr. had 31 combined tackles, six pass deflections, three interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble in 2020 with the Seminoles.
The Chargers had the second-best coverage grade per Pro Football Focus this season, led by the elite play of safeties Derwin James Jr, Elijah Molden, and Marcus Maye. All three players ranked in the top 25 in their positions in the NFL. Fuller hopes to continue that success in his first NFL coaching role of his career.
