Chargers Playmaker Bolts to AFC Powerhouse in Latest Offseason Prediction
The Los Angeles Chargers are 9-6 on the campaign and are expected to make the playoffs. In Jim Harbaugh's first season at the helm, the Bolts look like a completely different team.
They got great news regarding RB J.K. Dobbins, who was activated off IR after missing the past four games with a sprained MCL. The Chargers look to get into the dance and make noise in the postseason. That is the attention of those in Los Angeles, but the speculation around the 2025 offseason has started.
Bleacher Report's Scouting Department released an article talking about potential free-agent additions for all 32 teams in the league. In that article, they suggested that the Buffalo Bills will sign WR Joshua Palmer.
They wrote, "Josh Palmer is never going to be a star, but he's become a consistent producer as a third option for the Chargers. He would likely receive a boost just from being in an offense as dynamic as Buffalo's."
Palmer came into the league as a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and has been a solid weapon for this group. In his career, the Tennessee product has notched 178 receptions (276 targets) for 2,246 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
Even though he may not be a superstar, he makes his presence felt on the field. The Chargers are already thin at WR and if they fail to re-sign Palmer, that'll be another area they will need to improve.
Outside of Palmer, the Chargers have Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston as the only two WRs who can be productive. Johnston still has problems with drops so the Chargers will be in the market to add more WRs this offseason.
If Palmer does skip town, that will hurt the passing attack and create another hole in the offense. It would be another gut punch if he lands within the same conference and goes to Buffalo.
There's a lot of time between now and March so things can certainly change.
