The Los Angeles Chargers exceeded everyone’s expectations in Jim Harbaugh’s first season as head coach. The Chargers had double-digit wins for the second time in the last three years but had at least 11 wins for the first time since 2018 (12-4).

Los Angeles was rewarded for a great season with a trip to the Lone Star State for the wildcard round of the playoffs. However, the Chargers fell short as the Houston Texans won 32-12.

Even though the season ended with a loss, LA fans should feel excited about the team heading into the offseason. The Chargers should be active in free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft as they look to bolster their offense and defense.

Los Angeles will have the No. 22 overall pick in the first round and 11 selections overall in the draft, which includes three compensatory picks. According to Nick Korte of Over The Cap, the Chargers should get comp picks for Kenneth Murray, Gerald Everett, and Michael Davis.

Murray signed a two-year, $15.5 million deal with the Tennessee Titans this past offseason. Everett left Los Angeles and signed a two-year, $12 million contract with the Chicago Bears.

Finally, Davis signed a one-year, $3.2 million deal with the Washington Commanders. Murray had a solid first year with the Chargers (95 combined tackles, eight tackles for loss, five QB hits, 3.5 sacks, two pass deflections, and an interception), but Davis and Everett did not in their new destinations.

Davis appeared in 15 regular season games for the Commanders (only started in two). Everett had a disappointing eight receptions (13 targets) for 36 yards in his first year in the Windy City.

Los Angeles could use those extra comp picks to add to the trenches and wide receiver unit Or they could use those picks to move up in the draft or add more capital to the 2026 NFL Draft.
